Is this bad advice, what should I do?

I met this girl a couple of months ago. I have been told ';Dont just blurt out your feelings'; and ';Take it slowly';. I am afraid if I do not tell her how I feel I will just end up her friend forever (We are friends atm and have talked quite a bit just the two of us). I am afraid that if I take it slowly she will find someone else. Life is too sort for ';Take it slowly'; or am I wrong?Is this bad advice, what should I do?
