Not everyone who is asked a question they do not know is confident enough in themselves to say I don't know so they give an answer to the best of their ability.
Some on this forum feel they need to participate and accordingly will give you an answer to the best of their ability. Some others on this forum are hung up on the points and levels system so they try to give as many answers as they can to gain points and reach a higher level. Then there are others who do not have a life and just give really dumb answers because they have no concept of what helping others is all about. You also have some who have some personal experience, maybe not at a professional level, who will also try to help.
Answers here should not be relied on soley especially in a situation where the outcome can be disastrous. If you require professional advise then I would suggest going to a reputable source unless bad advice from this forum will not cause some disastrous outcome.
I guess this is just venting on your part so this answer will not resolve any problems neither will it highlight anything new. Sorry, the place is filled with kids and immature people so you have to take everything with a grain of salt. Free advice is not always free if you get my drift. ;)
Not everyone here is bad but I am sorry if someone gave you bad advice. :(Why do people who don't have a clue give bad advice?
Tell that to the person who decided that 2 points should be given to any answer.
i agree. If htey dont know they should just say that they dont know instaed of assuming somehting and giving people wrong advise...
Because people always think that they know what they're talking about. I just got a thumbs down vote for giving sound reptile advice regarding housing multiple ball pythons in a single habitat, and a thumbs down for chastising an idiot for not spaying her dog, who is now seeking an abortion for her pregnant dog.
Chances are good that these people really believe the advice they are giving, and that these people will also be clueless and ask ';how did this happen'; when their chocolate-eating dog winds up with hemorrhagic gastroenteritis.
i totally agree!
couldnt tell you. the questions i know nothing about i just mainly skip over.
Because they want to get more points. That's why I only reply the questions that I feel I have enough knowledge to answer.
I know what you mean...I see people giving completely wrong advice, and people giving them the best answer and taking the advice that will most likely kill their pet. It is really frustrating!
There is an old adage that says, ';Most of the time, you get what you pay for, and this advice is free, so take that into consideration.'; Another old adage - ';Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.';
While this forum is fun, and I enjoy reading all the differing points of view, I do hope and pray that the people who ask very serious sounding questions on here take the answers they get with a grain of salt. I mean, do any of us really know anything about any of the others of us? Consider the source, people!
Well i'm sure they'd like the apparent psychological reward of two points awarded to them. And secondly, they have the ability to answer the question to the best way they see fit, which doesn't always mean they use their powers for good and never evil. One could only hope the person in question wouldn't listen to bad advice.
you can ignore bad advice for the most part.
I just hate when people jump on their high horse and start ranting their ethics and morals. It's an advice forum, not a ';listen to me I'm always right'; forum.
I agree!!! good for you for addressing the issue. but you know as well as i do some idiot who can't even spell is going to answer those questions anyway.
you sound like a smart girl
well maybe there just trying to help and to the best of there knowledge what they tell you is right.
Because they're clueless. The better question may be why someone with a clue would take advice from someone who is clueless.
