Any advice for reducing the probability of bad scarring?

I very recently (Friday), had a motorbike accident. As well as losing several teeth, I ripped my lip severely and have had 14 (I think) stitches in my face. I haven't even had the stitches removed yet but I am wondering if anyone has advice on what to do or not to do, to ensure minimal scarring.Any advice for reducing the probability of bad scarring?
just make sure you stay well hydrated and make sure you don't pick at the wound AT ALL even after the stitches are removed, then later on if you can afford it, there are certain laser surgeries they can perform to greatly reduce scarring
