What (good or bad) advice changed your life?

good...have a drink...bad...have anotherWhat (good or bad) advice changed your life?
My elder brother said, '; never say, you know';.What (good or bad) advice changed your life?
BAD - She doesn麓t deserve you ( a stupid manipulating *****)

GOOD - You only live once, live it to the fullest (my ex girlfriend)
best advice, measure twice cut once. a good tradseman always cleans up after hiself. i live by that advice in work and homelife (a saviour in the bedroom :-) from an old tradesman

worst advice, ';your funds are low, you should get a loan and an overdraft'; from a spotty prick ';client advisor'; at my bank
I am one of those people that take no notice of advice.I prefer to find out for myself.
You are pregnant
Don't sweat the small stuff!
Bad - you are young, you have all the time in the world!

(Yeah, right! They didn't tell me youth doesn't last forever and one day you wake up and you are almost 30 and you wonder:

What went wrong?)

Good - believe in yourself

(because no one else will)
When I was 19, my aunt convinced me that I was too young to marry my boyfriend. I loved him, but she had some pretty strong arguments. I asked him to wait. Basically, I turned him down. He told me I broke his heart. I know I broke mine. That was over twenty years ago.

I'm happily married, have a good job and a wonderful family. I wouldn't wish for any change in my life, but....I'll always wonder.
1. the belief in god. 2. ?
My father once told me, ';You don't need friends to have fun';. For the most, I truly thank him for keeping myself in a good path of not doing anything terrible in my life. But as well of his advice he had given myself, I could have a few new people around to hang out with.
Best piece of advice that changed the whole way I think and interact with people:

';You teach people how to treat you';
the advice I gave myself changed my life and that was to be the best I can be, and when someone tried to make me someone I wasn't that changed my life too
