There was a bad accident now I am afraid of driving in the rain. Got any advice?

I was in a bad accident on Feb 22, 07, on a major freeway involving 8 other cars, the roads were packed with traffic, rainy and wet. I was just lucky and only suffered sprains and displacement in my ribs, spine and sturium. I still see a chiropractor 3 times per week. I thought I broke teeth but I ended up having glass in my mouth. I was my first big accident. I can't seem to get back into driving in the rain. It took me 3 weeks to drive again. Now I call in sick from work, cancel appt, bail on friends or get someone to drive me but I can't seem to get back into driving in the rain. The thought of driving on the freeway in the rain just freaks me out. Can anyone help? Suggestions? There was a bad accident now I am afraid of driving in the rain. Got any advice?
It's just like fear of flying. The only way to beat it is to DO IT!

Good luck. There was a bad accident now I am afraid of driving in the rain. Got any advice?
Come on it's not bad. Just drive really slow and follow up the road.

Try going to a skid school. They have them for snow conditions, but I'm sure they have them for wet surfaces, etc. These schools teach you how to respond when your car is out of control, and maybe that will help get you relaxed in poor conditions again. Glad to hear you're alright, and try to be honest with your friends about why you don't want to drive in the rain. Good luck!
what i would do is take it slow.get a family member or friend to take you to an empty parking and try there till you feel comfortable to drive in the rain again. good luck
