I'm only 18 so I want to know why.
This is a legitimite question. I work for the GeekSquad, and I constantly see on this site, some real awful computer advice. One person told another person to use tape to afix a vga connector to the back of the computer, another person told someone to change BIOS settings blindly. Another person told someone to start taking pieces out of her computer to make it boot. and I think that the top one was ...Find a driver for your computer monitor. I even saw ';Use a hairdryer to shrink-wrap your cables together.
Are the people that are giving this advice even familiar with a computer??Why do people give bad computer advice?
they suck
they want points
they dont care
they dont know!Why do people give bad computer advice?
this kind of q make people sick so they don't give proper answer
Unfortunately, you will always have your share of jokers out there, looking for a quick 2 points.
there was one i heard that this guy was trying to fix/install a graphic card but it wont fit into the slot, so he went ahead and ';sawed off'; the excess part and now it wont work';
its just how some ppl think
People who gave these answers, even that's all they know or carelessness.they should be reported.
Sure you dont have to be a technician to answer here.... But I would rather get some advise here than spend $160 for some dimwhit to possibly screw things up just as bad....I personally know 2 people that got their pc screwed up going to geek squad.....
Besides if they dont like the anser, they can post the question again in hopes for something better to go off of, sure beats the hell out of what the Geek Squad call help, its nothing more than a ripoff.....
people just don't care. like me, i just want my 2 points and get outta here quick. but don't get me wrong, thanx for asking all those questions.
This is simple cause they are as smart as peanuts sometimes, but just plain lazy.
No Kidding dude. I build custom Home Theaterand gaming pcs and I have read advice in here that are absolutely STUPID or Instructions that would seriosly screw up a pc.
i think some people do it for badness and fun to see if they can destroy some one elses computer
I'm a computer technician myself...I couldn't agree with you more, but I think the reason is because they fear the fact that they're not educated on how to take care of a computer (notice the people with the idiotic answers are older...)
People give advice like that, because they probably dealt with consultants... who's job it is to make them spend money... I have had my share of dealings.
I know.
One guy asked for advice because his keys on his keyboard weren't working. He did put the keys (A, O, P).
%26amp; the first answer was:
';well, they just did, didnt they?';
Pretty lame answer when you can always COPY %26amp; PASTE.
People can be so pathetic.
No offense to you, but I have gone into my local best buy, and gotten totally retarded answers from the local geek squad, things that someone that knows how to turn on a computer should know, and they didn't. And this site is about helping, some people are honest and trying to help to the best of their ability, and others, well either being jerks, or just oblivious.
On a side note, a hair dryer works great on SHRINK TUBING, you have to have the shrink tubing to actually shrink wrap wires, you cant just point a hair dryer at wires and Viola' organized wires. (obviously) If you don't like the answers you get, go get them elsewhere, or wait for someone else's two cents.
